Description

Cytodiagnostics has a special role in the diagnosis and prevention of squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. The main task of the examination is to detect precancerous lesions and early forms of cancer, glandular lesions can also be detected. The most commonly used nomenclature system for cytological examination is the Bethesda (SB) two-stage system (LSIL, HSIL).

LSIL is low-grade intraepithelial lesions, (low-grade dysplasia).

HSIL is high-grade intraepithelial lesions, (high-grade dysplasia),pre-invasive cancer.
