- The test material is blood.
- The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test, it is advisable to drink a glass of water or bitter(unsweetened) tea.
Description
Pertussis (former and common name pertussis) - is an acute infectious disease of the respiratory system, characterized by recurrent attacks of cough and prolonged dyspnea.
The disease is caused by the pertussis bacillus (Bordetella pertussis). Survival of whooping cough leaves a lasting immunity.
Antibodies in the IgG class testify to the survival of the infection and the acquisition of immunity to this infectious agent.
The test of antibodies to Bordetella pertussis IgG- is NOT used to assess the immune status after vaccination, but is used to diagnose fresh infection with whooping cough.
