Description
Uric acid is formed during the breakdown of DNA and RNA acids and is excreted by the kidneys. When its concentration in the blood is too high, it precipitates in the form of crystals,
which are the cause of joint pain. Uric acid crystals are taken up by mast cells, which secrete mediators of the inflammatory process- gout attacks.
