Preparation for the study
General
- The test material is blood.
- The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test, it is advisable to drink a glass of water or bitter(unsweetened) tea.

- Blood should be drawn between the 3rd and 5th day of the menstrual cycle unless otherwise instructed by the doctor.
Description
LH is a hormone of the pituitary gland, affects the female sex glands, determines estrogen secretion, ovulation, the formation of the corpus luteum and male organs, determines the secretion of testosterone.
Importance of LH test: diagnosis of endocrine disorders, menstrual disorders, absence of menstruation in women.
Abnormal values: in the peri-menopausal period, in anorexia, bulimia, extreme malnutrition, in hypogonadism (underdevelopment of the sex glands).
